I prefer, Blueberry Lemonade

It's taken the music world by storm, it's broken records, produced sold-out concerts, in the talks to receive elite awards and has received incredible feedback. Lemonade, has been a call to action so to speak, for women across the globe. Are you in Formation?

I'd like to open up by saying that I'm in utter awe of this beautifully executed, visual spectacle. I loved the confidence that she exuded as it seeped through the HD peepholes and pores of the screen. I love to see women (any human for that matter) come into their own and become comfortable in their skin, their temple. 

Her element of surprise, titillation and perfection is second to none, as they don't call her "Queen Bey" for no reason, I reckon. So, many salutations for a job well done, Mrs. Carter.

I, polled folks earlier last week, to learn more about their positions regarding this album, tour and "movement". An alarmingly, high rate felt empowered and validated by it. 

I knew then my overall opinion of this album was not amongst 'General Pop', and like always, I was okay with that. 

Again, I give accolades where they're due and again, job well done. But, my question about this album is what exactly is she calling us into "Formation" for? To do what precisely? What cause are we affecting positively? 

"What’s worse, lookin’ jealous or crazy? Jealous and crazy. I’ve like been walked all over lately, walked all over lately. I’d rather be crazy,” 

Uhm...why are those my only choices? Why do I have to participate in either? I have questions and certainly, there are other options--I'd rather stand up for myself with grace and dignity. Plus, I don't want to bust out windshields and call my friends over to assist. 

I also do NOT appreciate the exploitation of the Black Panther Party's cause/purpose, as a marketing ploy. They got into "Formation" to affect great change. And, furthermore, who has she ever got into formation for?

I took up great issue with "Elevator Gate" last year, as my understanding of a "Queen" was to protect her "King" and not allow another woman to ever put her hands on him, ever (shit would have hit the fan if it had gone the other way around). It matters not who that woman is. Inherently, I believe Queens and Kings are to resolve their grievances behind closed doors and not on a world-wide platform, that includes the crazed-eyed sister. 

Now, I've never been married and am the first to say I have NO idea what it takes to engage in one (which is why I've never been married as I take it incredibly, serious) but, again I thought that the only being that was supposed to be in the center and that involved and engrossed in one's marriage is whomever they pray to. Now, I'm savvy enough to know that this album is not about the current state of her marriage, but even if snippets are cultured from it and neatly displayed on the spinning tracks of the album, I would think the sacredness and validity of it becomes incredibly, watered-down and weakened to what appears to be an already dilapidated foundation. 

So, again, I'm wondering, what is she calling women into formation to do? Stay in an abusive relationship and retaliate by destruction, by reminding him "You aint no basic bitch..." (whatever that even means), publicly air out ALL your laundry, and join an opportunistic cause that best suits you. 

I salute all of the women that got into formation and there is nothing but love for your cause, that you were committed enough to STAND in formation; my scope however, reveals an incredibly, broadened view and this is one that I'll happily and gracefully bow out of. Now, I know the "BeyHive" is actively rabid and kray--and it's a very real possibility that they may leave a few stingers here and there, or maybe I'm too small of a blip on the map to even be noticed. Either way, I'm cool with it as it matters not what comes from it, this is my 2 cents. Have an incredible Wednesday and be sure to sweeten up your Lemonade with Hunny.
