I understand that long-winded and breathy blog posts are what's in these days. Today isn't one of those days that I give a rat's behind about what's trending, popular nor "correct." Today, this piece will be simple, to the point and not a singular hair less significant than some lengthy-collegiate article that oozes pretense and condescension.
Traffic flowed at the speed of molasses headed upstream in the winter-time, this morning. As the car ahead of me lackadaisically puttered about at 35mph in a 50mph zone, my knee jerk reaction was to honk the horn and shout a few obscenities within the safety of my vehicle. Then, I remembered it was National #RandomActsofKindness Day! Even though they wouldn't have heard me, the universe would have so in that very instant I shifted my energy, settled into my seat and coasted along with the illegal flow of traffic.
I know it's Saturday and you all may be out running errands, getting your hair done, relaxing into manicures and pedicures, grabbing a bite to eat and chatting it up with friends or just snuggled up in your warm fuzzy socks, nestled in a chair, cradling your favorite book; whatever the case may be, I simply want to say thank you.
Interestingly enough, the older I get, the more tears seem to escape from my tear ducts and eyelids. I'm okay with it when it's my intention, it's the part that I have given zero permission to do so, yet it boldly does it anyway, that I have a problem with it.
Without knowing it, she shared a pretty cool story of kindness being bestowed upon her on (3) different occasions by the same person. By the time she shared her last animated, yet super cool story, I told her I was going to write about them.
I've been busy as a bee working on various projects. While working diligently on a website yesterday, my MacBook decided it wanted to plunge to it's death. Ascended Masters, can I PLEASE just catch a consistent and extended break! Geez!
I ran across a very simple quote this morning. I scrolled past it and then went back, again and again. As, I sit with my cup of coffee and gather myself to prepare for fellowship, I do believe the quote has shifted my very being and may have changed my life.
While wading through the bitter cold, snow, ice and slush mixed with what looks to be a red-clay or at least a very close, first cousin, I remembered just how important it is for seasons to change. Seasons are proof that change is inevitable and viable to sustain a healthy and happy life.
Oftentimes, let folks impassionedly tell it, they're doing their parts to create unconditional loving, change in the universe. And, in all fairness, I believe most really do think this of themselves as what we believe is very real to us--blah, blah, blah...
Well, on the final leg of my "2016 blunder throughout the US tour" the universe brilliantly arranged me to cross paths with a woman.
I woke up this morning feeling some kinda way. Pms is a real, mother shut yo mouth. These feelings were escalated into a fiery pit, when I walked into the room to see that my dog decided to poop on the floor, despite he'd been outdoors several times. And, as I threaten at least 6x's per week, he was on his way to homelessness.
After a great encounter with my neighbors and receiving an awesome text message, my mood was on an upswing, shift.
After, showering and dressing, I decided to randomly visit a place I've never been for breakfast. And, I stumbled upon this gem. Thank you God!
This is one of the coolest spots I've been to since I've been in Phoenix. The universe definitely knows how to direct me (especially, when I ask to be). I walked into this establishment for an early lunch and was greeted by the most jovial, warm and confident lady. She's dressed in a kick-ass vintage dress, she's artsy, tatted and red-headed (I have a serious adoration for gingers ;))
If there was any lingering funk that traveled with me, she melted it upon seeing her. Her smile lit up the room and she was very knowledgable about the menu, so much so that without my looking at the menu, I was able to order strictly by her recommendations.
The food was great, but it was the vibe of the cafe and "Lady Erica" that made me snuggle up in the oversized chair in the corner, plug-in, get comfortable and begin typing away.
In just the time I've been sitting here, you've placed numerous smiles on several folks' faces. Thank you for your contribution of greatness. You ROCK! <3
I’m a firm believer that there are far more good that occurs in the world on an everyday basis.
I know this to be true.
I haven’t watched the news in so many years, that I can’t really remember that I ever did. What I do remember about the news then and currently (if I happen to catch a glimpse of it because I’m some place where it’s playing) is that it was/is mostly, heavily-ladled with negative, sad, depressing, horrendous, callous, traumatic news with a slight, sprinkle of jovial bits. And, as far as I’m concerned, aint nobody got time for that!
So, in an effort to highlight, acknowledged and applaud the folks around the world, that contribute to the pool of greatness, I’ve created this section just for you. This shall be fun, plus it shall help me to prove my theory!
