I'm on the precipice of 40 and my son will turn 24 one month after my birthday (you do the math).
I've bounced around and chipped away at my ideas, locations, gifts and path(s) throughout our lives (I'm so grateful that I didn't allow the negative words of others affect my continuous efforts).
Kendall (my son) has gone away to college (he decided after a couple of years that he just wasn't into it--I never faulted him for that, as neither was his artistic mom), changed ideas, avenues and switched gears (he's currently enjoying his Welding courses and the more he tries different things, the prouder he makes me).
Neither, his nor my life has been crystal stairs by any definition of the term, however, we've always made it.
Triumphantly, on this day, one of my many dreams have come to fruition and I couldn't be happier. What makes me the most happy is that my son is watching...in watching me, he's learning that it is NEVER too late for your dreams to come true. It matters not how many trials and tribulations one has gone through, plus, null and void are the naysayers and folks with negative thoughts, ideas and opinions of you.
All that matters is YOU...to focus on self, to surround one's self with folks that see and believe in your light...it's imperative to elevate and grow within your joys and pains, and never take your crown off for anyone nor anything.
So, here's to you my beautiful child, love of my life and the absolute best parts of me. I love you <3

*Swish, scratch, swish*...went the brushes and palm swipes of seven-subtly, eager artists against their roughly-textured and prepped canvases. Resonating incredibly soothing feels, like a medium-bristled brush being lovingly and carefully raked through her hair. It gave her the chills (click to read more of the sample and purchase)...
She, steadily walked down the busy road, yet there were no appropriate sidewalks and cars were whizzing by. At any given time, there may have been a million questions/comments/thoughts/replays/intentions and words traveling along the synapses of her nerve endings, overflowing her system and blowing her mind (click to read more of the sample and purchase)...
