Enter the era of all things, "aesthetically pleasing". Often times...hell, every damn day, all day, I constantly hear both men and women talk incessantly about their workout plans and routines and how working out makes them feel so much better and whole as a person.
What I almost NEVER hear, is anyone talking about how they're going to whip their emotional state into "shape". One can workout and sculpt their bodies into "perfection" (the pursuit of perfection, is apparently a rapidly growing trend) and gain the confidence and self-esteem that one may have never had, prior. But, what pumping iron and Iron Man triathlons does NOT do, is heal our emotional states. Our realities are a compilation of our thoughts, feelings, words spoken, and actions...when our emotional state is unwell and one heads to the gym, it burns some stress...however, the underlying root and issue(s) are still there. Left, untouched, unattended to, and forgotten until it's next occurrence.
We live in a society that anything that "looks good" (that term is used extremely loosely, as beauty is in the eye of the beholder) is what we should aspire to become. I, personally beg to differ...in fact, I could give two hoots less, about what one looks like, I'm far more interested in one's character, emotional and mental stability and the spirit that governs it all. As long as one is genuinely happy, one is healthy. Happy people, make amazing decisions and pay it forward to others...the self-absorbed and selfish folks of this world, focus on self and then taunt, tease and bully others that aren't following in their drone footsteps.
My hope is that one day, it occurs to those very same individuals that are running, pumping, squatting, and getting summer divalicious (and gent) ready is, that they remember to pay their emotional and mental states, equal attention as they're paying to their outward shells. Beauty and health is a situation that happens inward - outward. Not the other way around.

*Swish, scratch, swish*...went the brushes and palm swipes of seven-subtly, eager artists against their roughly-textured and prepped canvases. Resonating incredibly soothing feels, like a medium-bristled brush being lovingly and carefully raked through her hair. It gave her the chills (click to read more of the sample and purchase)...
She, steadily walked down the busy road, yet there were no appropriate sidewalks and cars were whizzing by. At any given time, there may have been a million questions/comments/thoughts/replays/intentions and words traveling along the synapses of her nerve endings, overflowing her system and blowing her mind (click to read more of the sample and purchase)...
